Watermelon From The Garden

September 10, 2011 By RDG

Home grown watermelon.
We grew this on a trellis is a square foot garden.

This watermelon grew on the trellis of our square foot garden. It shared the trellis with a cucumber vine. I was uncertain about when to pick it. It fell off the trellis today due to its weight. Problem solved. It was ripe and delicious.

Watermelon split open.
The watermelon was a beautiful champagne color on the inside.

Tip: you can save seeds from fruits and vegetables that you buy from the farmers market. We saved a seed from a watermelon that we really liked and used it to grow this one.
