Joel Salatin Provides Perspective On The Modern Food System

July 31, 2012 By RDG

There are a lot of problems in the modern food system. Most of what is normal today was not always that way. Joel Salatin’s recent book, Folks, This Ain’t Normal, delves into this topic.

In the video below, Joel Salatin discusses the modern food system and what he would do to change it.

Be careful watching the video though, you might be inspired to keep chickens, grow your own organic vegetables, and produce the world’s best natural sweetener. As Joel says “Have you ever tried to make high fructose corn syrup in your kitchen?”

A selection of topics covered in Joel’s presentation.

  • What is grass?
  • The chicken as the great recycling agent.
  • The need for food freedom and bottom up change.

Share your thoughts about Salatin’s ideas in the comments below.
