How To Capture Honey Bee Swarm Video

May 23, 2012 By RDG

One of my honey bee colonies swarmed recently. I took the opportunity to capture a video demonstrating how to capture a swarm of honey bees.

In this case I used a bee brush to sweep the bees into a cardboard box. This was easy to do because they had landed on a nearby fence rail. After capturing the swarm in some kind of container, all that is needed is to move them into a suitable home such as an empty hive.
