Honey Harvest Step By Step

September 18, 2011 By RDG

Honey bottled in a squeeze bear.

How does honey get from the comb to the bottle? It is a step by step process. First, it is important to get as many honey bees out of the supers as possible. Then the supers can be removed from the hive. The third step is to extract the honey. Finally, the honey is ready to be bottled.

I have documented the steps during my harvest in 2011. Follow the links in this post to see all the steps. After all, the honey crop was the main reason I started keeping bees.

 Honey Harvest Steps In Order

  1. Honey Harvest Step One: Place Bee Escape Boards.
  2. Honey Harvest Step Two: Remove Supers.
  3. Honey Harvest Step Three: Extracting.
  4. Honey Harvest Step Four: Bottle The Honey Crop.
