Baby Chicks Video

June 24, 2012 By RDG

Baby chicks are really cute and fluffy. Letting a hen sit on some eggs and hatch out the next generation of chickens is part of the fun of keeping chickens. Watch the short video embedded below for baby chick goodness.

One Week Old Baby Chicks

The black baby chick is from a Marans hen and Easter Egger rooster. The other chicks are Welsummer/Easter Egger mixes.

They were incubated by a broody Cuckoo Marans hen. The chicks are in a Catawba Coop that was built to use as a brooder coop. By removing one side of the coop, we are able to view the chickens.

The soundrack is provided by MusOpen. The music is Pictures at an Exhibition – VII. Limoges. Le Marche and is used under creative commons.
